2006 FAHS All-Class Reunion Now that the holidays are over we can now start to focus in on our big gathering in Orlando later on this year!! I talked with the hotel staff this morning and dropped some of our room blocks. The reason for this is because as of now I'm responsible for any and all rooms not taken from this point forward. The hotel has said as of now they will continue to honor our group rate but can't guarantee the rate for folks who may wait until the last minute to make their room reservations. As a reminder here is the phone number for each of you to make the necessary reservations for you and your family. Remember to ask for the FRANKFURT REUNION GROUP RATE when making your reservation. The number to call is 1-800-624-4109. They should quote you a rate of $79.00 per night with a $9.00 per night resort fee. As with all updates I send out I have a list of alumni who have indicated that they will be attending. This isn't a maybe list. This list is folks who have said they will be there. If for some reason you are on the list and plans have changed, please let me know so I can remove your name. As I've said in past updates, I don't want to place maybe names on this list. If I haven't placed your name on the list please let me know so I can keep everything updated. Once again I've had some individuals ask me "Why are you having this in Florida and not somewhere else?" Again, and for the last time. We don't have an association in which we pay dues or fees to help with expenses. I'm taking this gathering on by myself in regards to the signing of contracts. I'm the one responsible, thus I'm dealing with people who I have dealt with in the past and are willing to work with our group. This hotel has been calling me for the past couple of years asking for our return. I don't have to renegotiate with another hotel, The Grosvenor knows exactly what we want and what to expect from our group. Those who ask me these questions should try and put on a gathering and see how "EASY" it is, LOL!!! Orlando isn't an expensive trip, you can get there from anywhere. Just enjoy the simple fact that we will be able to get back together once again. There, I've vented and won't talk about this again. For those of you who haven't received any updates you can always go to www.fahs.org and click on the main guestbook and look for the Orlando 2006 link. Sheila always puts each and every update on this site. Below is a quick snapshot of the dates and costs of what to expect this August. If you have any questions please email me and I will get back to you as quickly as possible. Dates: August 10 - 13, 2006 Place: The Grosvenor Resort at Walt Disney World, Orlando, FL Cost: $145.00 per person, if you're bringing kids please contact me before sending payment in. This is a NONREFUNDABLE PAYMENT. All payments must be received NLT Monday, June 26, 2006. I will only except money orders after Monday, June 12th. All checks should be made out to Les Sandlin and mailed to the following address: Les Sandlin 4409 Hillmont Court St. Louis, MO 63128 Here is the cost breakdown for the gathering: Thursday, August 10th - The "ICE BREAKER" from noon until whenever. There will be finger foods and ALL YOU CAN DRINK BEER, WINE, LIQUOR and SODA until it's gone. There will be plenty for all. That evening we will have a poolside ALL YOU CAN EAT BBQ DINNER. The total for Thursday's events will be $55.00 per person. Friday, August 11th - The "BIG DINNER AND DANCE" with the ever populat "5 HOUR OPEN BAR". We will start the evening at 6:30 with a one hour cocktail hour followed by our dinner from 7:30 until 9:00. During this time the bar will be a cash bar. Starting at 9:00 until 2:00 we will have the "OPEN BAR". The total cost for this day to include DJ, Dinner, and Open Bar is $90.00 per person. You can dress as fancy or as down as you want. I'm not putting a dress code on anyone, but most have dressed up for this event. We will have a hospitality suite available to us for all 3 days, 24 hours a day. There isn't an excuse for not having a place to go and hang with all of your friends. The hotel will be placing our entire group on separate floors from their regular guests so we can have as much fun as we would like. That's about it for now.
