Painting commissioned in 1995
Painting by Anne Rowe
The painting was
commissioned in 1995 by a US-Russia based company to commemorate
the historic meeting of the Russian and American armies at
Torgau, Germany in 1945. The painting is based on a Life
Magazine photo of Lt. Alexander Silvasko and Lt. Bill Robertson.
The original painting was intended as a gift to the Russian
people from the American people and presently hangs in the World
War II Museum in Moscow, dedicated in 1995 in the presence of
President Bill Clinton. More

Vietnam.
