Bosnia

Nine enlisted U.S. soldiers from Bosnia enjoyed meeting and sharing their experiences with Ambassador Jean Kennedy Smith at the American Embassy in Dublin, Ireland. The soldiers were individually selected by their command to celebrate a five-day all expense paid visit to Ireland sponsored by Budweiser.
They arrived on June 28 to begin a cultural program that included a visit to Trinity College, St. Stephen's Green, some fine restaurants and a few good pubs.

The highpoint was being the honored guests at the Budweiser Irish Derby, the richest purse for horseraces in Europe. Twelve years running, this great race attracts the finest thoroughbreds throughout the world. To help them through race day, each soldier was given 100 Irish pounds to use as they pleased.
